to all who organized and attended his Parish Presentation Party last week.
To all those who sent cards and gifts since the changes were announced he
sends his sincere thanksgiving and is humbled by your generosity and good
wishes and prayers. It has been a tremendous privilege to have been in the
Parish of Ballyheigue for nine long and happy years and Thank God for the
people young and old who make up this parish Family. Your support was
always there in abundance. May the Lord bless each and every one of you.
ARDFERT RETREAT CENTRE: Faith and Spirituality for Parents. Calling all
parents of children preparing for First Holy Communion and Confirmation.

CELEBRATING CATHOLIC FAITH BELIEFS: Fr. Sean Sheehy, Wednesday evenings 7.00pm
– 8.30pm. We celebrate our faith in the Sacraments.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: Ballyheigue History and Heritage Group wishes to thank
Kerry Co. Council’s 1916 Commemoration Committee for the grant of 250 euros
it is receiving towards alleviating the running costs of the Casement Event
which took place on the 3rd August. It is also receiving 500 euros from the
Co. Council’s Community Support Fund, through the representation of Cllr.
John Lucid. The total cost of the Event borne by the Group came to 2,462.20
The Group also wishes to thank the Summer Festival Committee for covering
other costs associated with the 1916 commemoration, such as the acquisition
of the flag pole and the Proclamation plaque and the involvement of the

RAFFLE: The Johnny Silles Memorial Committee is raffling a fantastic Vintage
Car with all proceeds going to the Silles Family, Lixnaw. The draw will

BADMINTON – The new season is just up and running in the Community Centre.
We play every Monday and Thursday night from 8.30pm. New members welcome.

KERRYHEAD FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE: Music lessons will begin Wednesday 5th
October from 7-9pm. All the usual instruments will be catered for with the
addition of guitar and concertina.
Cookery Classes with a focus on health eating for children will begin on
Thursday 6th October at 7.00pm.
A Beginners sewing class is also due to begin in the coming weeks.

KERRY HOSPICE FOUNDATION: Sincere thanks to all who gave so generously to
the Pattern Day Collection which raised €1,613.82 for our worthy Kerry
RECOVERY HAVEN KERRY: (Cancer Support House), will be running a number of
programmes this autumn in Tralee. We will have 6 week support programme
for Men dealing with prostate cancer. It is aimed at men who have been
diagnosed within the past two to three years and will commence Tuesday 4th
We will also be running an 8 week programme called ‘Living Life’. This is
aimed to provide information and support to those living with a secondary
cancer diagnosis. This will take place on alternate Wednesdays commencing
Wednesday October 5th, 7-9pm.
GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Sunday’s GAA Lotto:
14-15-24-29. The Jackpot of €4,300 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot will
be €4,350. The two €50 winners were: John Tynan, Cliff Road and John
Casey, Bar na Sraide. The €25 winner was: Mary & Francis Casey, Cliff
UNDER 13s: The Ballyheigue Under 13s hurlers took part in the Eddie Hayes
ground Hurling Tournament at Abbeydorney on Saturday last. They defeated
Crotta and drew with Abbeydorney which put them in the ‘A’ final where they
played Ballyduff. After a tight game Ballyduff held on to win by one goal
– score Ballyheigue 2-1 and Ballyduff 3-1. Many thanks to Sonny Egan and
the Crotta club for inviting the Ballyheigue Under 13s team to their very
well run tournament. The Ballyheigue boys received silver medals.
COURSING LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn on Monday 26th September
in the Ballyheigue & District Coursing club Lotto: 2-3-5-22. Jackpot was
not won. The €50 winner was Charles Diggins, C/o Christina. The €25
winners were: Couchman Grand-kids, C/o Kitty, Dylan O’Mahony, C/o Macs and
John & Ger, C/o Christina. Next week’s Jackpot €5,000.
RINGS CLUB: The Rings Club has commenced for the winter season at the
Kerryhead Family Resource Centre every Tuesday night from 9.-11pm. All
