BALLYHEIGUE INSHORE RESCUE
My name is Gemma O’ Regan, I am the newly elected Public Relations Officer
for Ballyheigue Inshore Rescue Service who held their AGM on the Friday the
27th of January, and the following officers were elected:

The members of Ballyheigue Inshore Rescue would like to thank all outgoing
officers for their work and dedication to the unit, and also the local

ARDFERT RETREAT CENTRE

DOODLE 4 GOOGLE COMPETITION: Sally O’Mahony from Ardfert has been selected
for the public voting stage of the 2017 Doodle 4 Google competition. Sally
is a 5th year student at Mercy Mounthawk Secondary school, Tralee & is a
student of Ann O’ Shea Daly.
Her doodle can be viewed online on the Google website from 7-21st February
2017, where an opportunity to vote for Sally will be available. This is a
great opportunity for Sally & all help in promoting this voting process is

BALLYHEIGUE COMMUNITY CENTRE: As part of their review of services, would
like to invite all members of the community to discuss how the Community
Centre can serve the needs of the Parish going forward into the future,
Date: Monday 20th February at 8.00pm. This is an opportunity for everyone
to highlight the needs of the community.
KNOCK PILGRIMAGE TO NEW YORK: A special Pilgrimage from Knock to New York
departing from Ireland West Airport, Knock directly to JFK International, 8
th May for 6 nights. John Curry, the youngest Knock Witness, will be
re-interned from Long Island to Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Requiem Mass
will take place on Saturday 13th May, celebrated by His Eminence Cardinal
Dolan. On Sunday 14th, Mass of Thanks in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Manhattan.
This is a very special, historically significant, trip.

to be repeated time in Irish popular music!
CAMOGIE CLUB CILLARD: Due to large numbers we have added an additional
class to Tuesday evening fitness at Kilmoyley Community Centre with the 5 &
6 year olds at 5.30 to 6.15, and then 7 to 10 year olds at 6.15 to 7.15, &
11 to 14 year olds at 7.15 to 8.15, cost €2.
CAUSEWAY CAMOGIE NEWS: We would like to invite all girls from 5yrs to
11yrs to give Camogie a try for a few weeks. Starting Friday 17th of
February from 6.30pm to 7.30pm (& every Friday) In the Sports hall,
Causeway, Cost €2. All you need is a helmet, we will provide the hurley

Fundraising table quiz & medal presentation in Harty’s Bar Causeway on
Thursday 23rd Feb at 7.30pm. Special guests on night. Your support would
be very much appreciated.
GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Sunday’s GAA Lotto –
9-11-24-26. The Jackpot of €5,200 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot will
be €5,250. The two €50 winners were: Jim Cantillon, Causeway, C/o Mary

GAA JUVENILE AGM: Ballyheigue GAA wild hold their Juvenile AGM on Friday
17th February in the Club Rooms at 7.00pm. Everyone is welcome to attend,
hope to see you there.
KERRY HURLERS: The Kerry Senior hurlers had a great win over Laois in Round
1 of the National hurling League at Austin Stack’s Park on Sunday last.
The full time score read Kerry 3-14 and Laois 0-19. Philip Lucid was a
member of the team.
COURSING LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn on Monday 6th February in
the Ballyheigue & District Coursing Club Lotto: 5-17-21-30. Jackpot was
not won. The €50 winner was: John McCoy, C/o Macs. The €25 winners were:
Marian Gaynor, C/o Sean, Aidan Mahony, C/o Macs and Patrick Dineen, C/o
Costcutters. Next week’s Jackpot €5,900.
