BALLYHEIGUE NOTES – 27.2.2017

GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Sunday GAA Lotto
4,12,13,27. The Jackpot of €5300 was not won. Next Weeks Jackpot will be
€5350. The two €50 winners were Chris James Ballylongane and Owen Reidy
Glendahalan. The €25 winner was Michael Hehir Ballylongane.

REGISTRATION: Registration for Ballyheigue GAA Juvenile Club will take on
Sunday 5th March between 11 and 12 noon in the Club Room. Adult membership
will also be taken.

COURSING LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn on Monday 20th February in
the Ballyheigue and District Coursing Club Lotto 5,17,18,26. Jackpot was
not won. The €50 winner was Ger Lynch C/o John B. The €25 winners were
Seamus C/o Macs. J Rourke and B Purcell C/o John B and Diarmuid Slattery,
Next weeks Jackpot €6000

BALLYHEIGUE BADMINTON: Well done this week to Lillian Holmes who teamed up
with Josie Gilbert from the Causeway Club to capture the Division 5 Ladies
doubles Co. Championship last Friday in Killarney and she followed this up
with victory in the division 5 Plate competition at our own Ballyheigue
annual tournament which was held last Sunday. Over 70 players travelled
from all over Kerry to take part. Other Ballyheigue players who did well
were John McDonnell who won the Division 4 Mixed Final where Paula O
Sullivan was Runner up. Kyle Reidy was Runner up in the Plate Final and Tim
Griffin runner up in Division 3 Final. Thanks to the organizers from the
top table to the kitchen volunteers for all the hard work. Special thanks
to our Sponsors – Moriarty’s Centra Ballyheigue, Mike Kenny Bake supplies,
Mozart’s Restaurant Tralee and to the Ballyheigue Community Centre.A great
day was had by all.

COMMUNITY GAMES 2017: After an action packed weekend in the Community games
calendar we were thrilled to come home with a mixed bag of Medals and
Certs. Saturday saw the 1st leg of our winning ways when Shauna Casey won
1st place in U16 Art. On Sunday it was Draughts time. With 3 teams
travelling we were all hoping for the best and all the wonderful children
did not disappoint. In 1st place our U14 team of Adam Dineen , David o
Sullivan, Dara Kearney, Denis Lynch, Dara Donnelly, Oisin o Regan and
Charlie Fitzgerald were delighted with their success. Our U 12 team of
David o Grady, Sisters duo of Maggie and Lily Stack, Sam Fitzgerald, Jack o
Sullivan and Paige Drury bought home 2nd place with 6 more medals to our
asset. Our youngest team U10 came home with 4th place certs, well done Jack
o Halloran, Than Donnelly, Luke o Mahoney, Max Fitzgerald and Dylan
Galloway. Thanks to coach Terence Dineen for giving of his time to teach
all the children and to the parents who travelled on both days
