GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Sundays GAA Lotto
4-14-24-30. The Jackpot of €5,750 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot will be
€5,800. The two €50 winners were: Pat O’ Halloran, Ballyronan and David
Griffin, Buncurrig. The€25 winner was Laura Dunne, Marion Park.

FEILE: The Ballyheigue U-14 hurlers are through to the Feile final when
they had a great win over Ballyduff in the Feile semi-final at Ardfert on
Saturday. Both teams played excellent hurling Ballyduff got off to a dream
start with a goal after five minutes Ballyheigue came more into the game
with two goals and a point from Tomas Gaynor and a further goal and point
from Felim O’Sullivan. Half-time score Ballyheigue 3-2 and Ballyduff 1-0.
In the second half Ballyheigue took control and more scores coming from
Muiris Harty. David O’Mahony and Tomas Gaynor. The Ballyduff boys could
only add 3 points to their half time score. This was a complete team
performance from the Ballyheigue team. Full time score Ballyheigue 4-7 and
Ballyduff 1-3. They will plan Kenmare/Kilgarvan in the Feile final on Bank

MINORS: The Ballyheigue Minors had a good win over Kilmoyley in the North
Kerry league on Sunday, score Ballyheigue 2-20 and Kilmoyley 0-5.

CAUSEWAY CAMOGIE NEWS: Training for U12 girls (born 2007,2006 & 2005) will
take place on Friday evenings from 6.30 to 7.30pm in the sports-field
Causeway. €2 please. New players welcome to come along and give it a go
(helmet & hurley will be provided if needed).

KERRY HURLERS: Well done to the Kerry Senior hurlers who had a narrow
victory over Westmeath at Mulingar on Sunday in the Leinster round robin
Championship. Score Kerry 0-20 and Westmeath 2-12.

40th ANNIVERSARY: The outstanding achievement of the hurlers of Causeway
Comprehensive School in winning both the Munster and All Ireland “B”
Colleges Hurling Championships in 1977 is always rightly recalled as a most
significant milestone in the history in Kerry. With the 40th Anniversary
of these great victories approaching a Celebration Committee was formed in
December 2016. A day of celebration will get underway at 12 00 noon on
Saturday May 6th when a golf scramble will be played at Ballyheigue Castle
Golf Club. Players, mentors and invited guests will assemble at McHale’s
at 6.00pm sharp for a pre-dinner chat and some photographs. The Reunion
Dinner will take place at 7.30pm and will include presentations to all 26
players and the team mentors involved at the time who are all alive and
well 40 years on. To finish off proceedings dancing will get underway at
approx. 10.30pm and all past pupils of Causeway Comprehensive School are
invited to come along and reminisce on their school days and catch up with
friends they may not have met up with for a number of years.

DRAUGHTS TEAM: Best of Luck to our U14 boys draughts team who travel to
Dublin this weekend to represent Kerry in the All Ireland Final. Everyone
is very excited about the trip and we wish the boys and mentor Mr Terence
Dineen all the very best. Watch these notes for update next week.

DEATHS: The death occurred of Patrick O’Regan, 59 Marian Park and late of
the Line Road, Ballyronan, Ballyheigue. R.I.P. Pre-deceased by his son
Timmy. Deeply regretted by his wife Mary-Ellen, sons – John, Pat and
Michael, daughters: Rose and Sandra, sons-in-law: Anselm and Mike,
daughters-in-law – Joan, Tracey and Mary, his twenty grandchildren and
great-granddaughter Millie, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.
Reposing on Wednesday 26th April 2017 in Casey’s Funeral Home, Causeway
followed by removal to St. Mary’s Church, Ballyheigue with Requiem Mass on
Thursday 27th April; followed by burial in Killury Cemetery, Causeway.

The death occurred of Carmel Enright (née Moylan), Seaview Ballyheigue and
formerly of 44 Northland Road, Derry. R.I.P. Reposing at her residence
Teach na Paistte, Ballyheigue on Friday 28th April. Requiem Mass on
Saturday 29th April 2017 in St. Mary’s Church, Ballyheigue followed by
burial in the Holy Family Cemetery, Ballyheigue Pre-deceased by her husband
Peter. Deeply regretted by her children; Cadogen, Sean, Olwen, Marguerite,
Kate, David and Jonathan, by her many grandchildren, sons-in-law and
daughters-in-law and by her beloved sister and all her nephews and nieces.

COMMUNITY ALERT: Ballyheigue Community Alert are hosting an important
Public Meeting with a view to setting-up a “Text Alert” scheme in the
Ballyheiuge area. The meeting will be held in the Community Centre on
Monday 8th May at 8.00pm. This is an important initiative given the
increase in Rural Crime in recent times and a large turnout would be
appreciated.

PARISH RADIO: Please inform parishioners who listen to Mass on the Parish
Radio that it is back on air again.

OUR LADY OF FATIMA: Rosary reparation to Our Lady of Fatima will be recited
in the Grotto at 3.00pm on Saturday 6th May. All very welcome.

ANAM CARA: The organisation that supports bereaved parents, has its next
monthly Parent evening on Tuesday 9th May from 19.30 to 21.00 in Recovery
Haven, 5 Haigs Tce., Tralee. This event is open to all bereaved parents
regardless of the age of your child died, the circumstances of their death,
or whether the death was recent or not.
